Bought this to keep our golden retriever out of the kitchen while we eat, and the 27.6" height is just right—he can't jump it but can still see us. The four panels let me angle it around a weird corner by the stairs, which no other gate I've tried could do.
The four panels fold up flat enough to tuck behind the couch when guests come over, which I didn't expect to use as much as I do. At 27.6 inches it's tall enough that my jumper can't clear it, and I've got it angled across the hallway opening without any drilling.
Wasn't sure a freestanding gate would hold up to our 70-pound lab, but the four panels feel solid and he hasn't nudged it once. The foldable design means I can collapse it against the wall when guests come over.
