The wooden slats look nice enough that I left it up in the hallway permanently, not just when the dog needs blocking. It's light enough to move from the stairs to the doorway with one hand.
Wasn't sure a freestanding gate would hold up to my two dogs but it hasn't budged on the stairs once. The wooden frame is light enough that I can move it to the hallway doorway in seconds.
The wooden frame actually looks like furniture instead of a plastic barrier, which I didn't expect at this price. I've been moving it between the hallway and the doorway all week and it's light enough to shift one-handed but still stays put.
